About Us

About the Family and Child Health Initiative

The Family and Child Health Initiative (FCHI) works in partnership with children, youth, families and communities because we believe the voices, experiences, and knowledge of everyone that lives, plays, and works in Peel is needed in order to create programs and services that are inclusive, equitable, meaningful, and long-lasting.

Founded in 2018, the FCHI is a group of researchers and clinicians focused on improving the health and well-being of children, youth, and families in Peel.

FCHI is an Institute for Better Health (IBH) led initiative at Trillium Health Partners (THP) in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, one of the largest, most diverse and growing communities in Ontario where our research experts work with a diverse group of children, youth, families, and communities in the area of paediatric healthcare.

We stand at the intersection of healthcare and community, which allows us to learn and work alongside community members and organizations to understand strengths, issues, needs, and priorities in the area of family health and work towards collectively creating services and innovations that support all families to be well.

Partners

The FCHI participates in many community response tables across the region which allows us to continue to learn and ensure our projects are community-driven and developed through partnerships. We want to acknowledge our funding and community partners that have been involved in FCHI initiatives and look forward to expanding our partnerships. Without your support we simply could not achieve all that we do.
